Rather than performing in front of skyscrapers or in cavernous stadiums, Kylie Minogue made her way this weekend to the Idalp in Ischgl for an intimate gig at the open air venue in the Austrian Alps. The Tyrolean village with a population of 1,600 has long been one of the world’s winter hot spots. At the end of every winter season there is by tradition a mega concert in Ischgl, where thousands of Alpine skiers and snowboarders have spent their wintertime days skiing down the more than 200 kilometres of ski runs and then spent the nights celebrating in the pubs and discos. These popular events have proven to be extraordinarily valuable for the leaders of the tourism industry.
Today a 1.53-metre tall pop star will be rocking on top of 2,300-metre high mountain. Pop princess Kylie Minogue will perform in front of 20,000 fans who made their way to the unique setting of open air venue in Ischgl. After her performance on the Idalp she will be heading off to London for studio recordings.
Kylie’s new CD is on the way just like the next Top of the Mountain Concert with a superstar in Ischgl. In the small Alpine village with the unique skyline of mountain tops in the heart of the Tyrolean Alps.
